1. Welcome - Introductions
We all know each other!
Kevin: Coming out here from North Carolina and is very interested in Libertarianism. Very pro-individualism.
2. Activist Reports
Les: Went to Part 2 of Chris Silber’s presentation on the Great Depression and picked up James Grant’s book “The Forgotten Depression”-- Les highly recommends it.
Nick: Also went to Part 2 of Chris Silber’s presentation. Stop Top 2 petitions have arrived and as soon as I receive them I will be working on distributing them for circulation. We will have petitions at the gun show next weekend. Registered for the California LP Convention next April 27-29 in Long Beach, and planning on registering for the National LP convention at the end of June.
Rebecca: Went to a dinner with Larry Sharpe and met some more Libertarians. Going to the Voice and Exit conference in Austin next May. (see http://voiceandexit.com)
Francoise: Nothing to report.
Phil: Sharing the message of liberty with unsuspecting Lyft passengers, mostly talking about conspiracy theories. Also has been talking to others a lot about Bitcoin.
Aubrey: Went to the second Phil Ting community coffee event in Daly City. There were a few good questions, but not satisfying answers. According to Phil, the people want higher taxes! It was worthwhile to go to let Phil and others know that someone cares about taxes.
Starchild: There is some concern in the National LP that some white supremacists have come into the party-- we don’t want them.

November 14-15, Doug Stanhope will be in town at Cobb’s Comedy Club. He is a standup comedian who might not be so politically. Starchild recommends and wants to get some others to join.
4. Membership / Newsletter Report
Aubrey is still working on the newsletter.
21 lifetime members, 20 current regular members = 41 total
5. Website Report
Caught up on posting minutes to the website for the previous few months. Starchild tested out posting an article on the website and has given me some great feedback. In order to post anything, I will need to set up an account for you-- please let me know if you need this.
Aubrey gave me the new debit card information which I will use to add funds for the website, which will be coming up soon. This works differently than our previous hosting-- instead of being billed annually, we add funds to an online account which is billed monthly.
For anything else you want to post, you can send it to [email protected]
6. Treasurer’s Report
Bank of America account is totally done and zeroed out. Aubrey went in two weeks ago to take care of the overdraft charge. We are fully switched over to the credit union now.
Credit Union: $5788.94
Paypal: $218.31
+$37.50 check from LP CA
-$130 for the Gun Show tabling
-$14.95 to reimburse Aubrey
Total: $5899.80
< Intermission where we got derailed on a discussion of a Libertarian view on immigration, especially given the current welfare state. >
7. Ballot Measures Report
Deadlines for Board of Supervisors, Assembly, etc start as early as January for the June election. We need to pay attention. Arguments are due March 15. Aubrey has looked over the measures on there now. See the full list here:
http://sfgov.org/elections/local-ballot-measure-status
8. Gun Show Tabling
We will have a table with the John Birch society and the GGLR. Anyone is welcome to come and help.
9. Tax Day 2018
It’s never too early to start thinking about it. We’re opening a call for ideas for the event!
10. Meeting locations
We are considering mixing up the meeting locations a bit since the format of this meeting has worked well. We didn’t reach a decision for the January meeting, but our December meeting will take place in the library at our usual spot (Aubrey has this reserved already).
